All of the moderators are now fired thanks to allowing people to complain about the same thing in multiple posts when all they had to do was voice their concerns with me. This is not a community for bitching, and seeing as this is the thing the moderators are around for, they have obviously failed in their responsibilities. I am taking applications now for replacements. Please comment if you're at all interested in moderating the community.

The point of moderation is to simply make the community cleaner and more streamlined. We don't need to have thirteen posts on one topic in a day, and we don't need people posting huge pictures of penises, either. That's what the moderation is for. Posts don't wait in the moderation queue for more than maybe ten minutes, so there is no slowdown in the rate at which posts appear. 99.9% of all posts are quickly approved. No one's a fascist, and no one is censoring you. If there is any slowdown in community activity, chalk it up to the season, not to moderation, because it isn't the moderation that's doing it.

That said, quit your bitching. You would not know this community was moderated if I hadn't made the fact obvious to everyone.

Also, I think it might be very prudent to give people a small guideline about posting:
1. No complaint posts.
In other words, don't whine about someone or about community affairs. Talk to me if someone is giving you trouble or you have some issue with the community.
2. No community advertising.
This is a community based on the discussion of liberal politics and policies, not a digital billboard.
3. If the comments are disabled, the post will be deleted, no matter what.
I don't think this one needs much explaining.
4. Don't just post links to news stories.
If you like that, check out some place like politicsforum, where it's rampant.
5. Do not screen comments.
If I catch you doing it often, or making a spectacle of it when you do, there's a good chance you'll be banned, at least for a short while.

Now, as you can all see, these are all very common-sense guidelines designed not to censor, but to make the community enjoyable to everyone. If someone has issues with it, they can take it up with me. I'm more than happy to listen to you whine, in private, away from the spectacle of the community.

Anyone posting anything concerning the banning of brainlesswonder, the fact that several people are weeding out the shit that some people are intent on posting in this community, or anything concerning how this community is run, will be banned without exception. That was a lot of commas, but I'm sure you all can figure it out.

Happy holidays.
